On December 5, 2008, the chocolate club and friends were treated to an extraordinary evening exquisite in every detail held at club member Gloria Polanski’s home – a sit down chocolate dinner for thirty people. What better combination than great people and great food in a wonderful ambiance of warmth, conviviality and abundant humor.
The evening in its entirety brought home once again how much the world is missing in not seeing chocolate clubs sprouting up all over the place. So much fun around something so simple! The menu was sumptuous from beginning to end.
Dinner: Chicken baked in chocolate mole sauce; vegetable dish (spinach, corn, mushroom), tamale pie with chocolate mole sauce; spaghetti squash with roasted tomatoes; black beans (chocolate colored beans;) chopped cucumbers & avocadoes; cocoa nibs for sprinkling on food. White Bordeaux and red Cote du Rhone.
Dessert: Chocolate dessert buffet including buche de noel, two chocolate cakes, chocolate fudge pies, chocolate cheese cake, chocolate truffles, and chocolate macaroons.
